KeepWise

Privacy Policy

Privacy at a glance
KeepWise does not require an account and is designed to keep item records, answers, decisions, notes, and copied item photos on your device. The current version does not use KeepWise cloud synchronization, advertising, or targeted advertising. If these practices change, this Policy will be updated.

1. Introduction and Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how the developer or publisher identified on the KeepWise Google Play listing (“KeepWise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the KeepWise Android application (the “App”). It applies to the current version of KeepWise and to support communications that you initiate regarding the App.

KeepWise is a local-first personal organization tool. It allows you to create private records about belongings, answer reflection questions, receive locally generated organization suggestions, select a preferred action, and manage those records on your device.

This Policy does not govern independent third-party services such as Google Play, Android system services, your device manufacturer, the system camera, the Android photo picker, an email provider, or a sharing destination. Those services process information under their own privacy terms.

Please do not use KeepWise if you do not agree with this Policy. Where consent is required for an optional permission, you may refuse or later revoke that permission through Android settings.

2. Key Privacy Summary

No account is required in the current version.

KeepWise does not ask for a username, password, phone number, date of birth, or social profile.

Item records, decision answers, notes, and copied item photos are intended to remain on your device.

The current version does not operate a KeepWise cloud account or cloud-sync service.

Camera and photo access are requested only when you choose to add an item photo.

You can use the text-based decision process without adding a photo.

KeepWise does not sell personal information or use item records for targeted advertising.

You can delete individual records or clear all local KeepWise data from within the App.

3. Information You Create in KeepWise

3.1 Item and Decision Records

When you use KeepWise, you may create information such as:

Item name;

Item category;

Last-used range;

Condition or repair status;

Optional note or description;

Answers to the decision questions;

Locally generated recommendation type and explanation;

Selected final action, such as keep, gift, donate, sell independently, recycle, discard, repair, or reconsider;

Record status, creation date, update date, and completion date.

These records are created by you and are used to provide the App’s local organization functions. KeepWise does not require you to include a real name, address, contact information, purchase price, or other direct identifier in an item record. You should avoid placing sensitive personal information in optional notes.

3.2 Photos You Choose to Add

You may optionally take or select a photo of an item. After you select an image, the App may copy the selected image into KeepWise’s private app storage so the image remains associated with the item record. The App does not need to scan your full photo library in the background.

Do not add photos containing private documents, financial information, passwords, access codes, people who have not consented, or other content you are not authorized to store.

4. Information KeepWise Does Not Require

The current version does not require the following information for its core functions:

Account credentials or social-login data;

Email address or phone number for in-app use;

Precise or approximate location;

Contacts or address-book information;

Microphone recordings;

SMS messages, call history, or calendar data;

Payment-card or purchase information;

Biometric identifiers;

Advertising ID for personalized advertising;

Public profile, comments, messages, or social graph.

If the product is changed to use any of these categories, the App, this Policy, and the Google Play Data safety declaration must be updated before or when the new processing begins.

5. Permissions and Android Features

5.1 Camera

KeepWise requests camera access only after you choose a function such as “Take Photo.” Camera access is used to capture an item image for the record you are creating. KeepWise does not use the camera in the background.

5.2 Photos and Media

KeepWise may launch Android’s system photo picker or request the minimum media access required by your Android version when you choose “Select from Photos.” The purpose is to let you select a specific image. On supported Android versions, the system photo picker can allow selection without granting broad access to the entire photo library.

5.3 Permission Choices

You may deny or revoke optional permissions. If you do so, photo-related functions may not work, but you can generally create a text-only item record and complete the decision process. Permission controls are available in Android settings, and exact wording may vary by device.

6. How Information Is Used

KeepWise uses locally stored information to:

Create and display your item records;

Move through the question flow and remember your answers;

Calculate an organization suggestion using predefined local rules;

Display your selected action and progress status;

Allow you to edit, re-evaluate, complete, or delete records;

Generate local counts such as total, pending, kept, or completed records;

Maintain App preferences such as the last selected navigation tab;

Respond to feedback or support requests you choose to send.

KeepWise does not use your item records or photos to create advertising profiles, determine creditworthiness, set prices, make eligibility decisions, or train a public artificial-intelligence model.

7. Local Processing and Storage

The current version stores business data in a local Android database and stores copied item images in the App’s private file directory. Recommendation logic is intended to run on the device using the answers you provide. KeepWise does not transmit item names, notes, question answers, final actions, or item photos to a KeepWise-operated server in the current version.

Other applications normally cannot access the App’s private storage without system-level access, device compromise, backup access, or an action you initiate. However, the security of local data also depends on your device, Android version, device lock, malware protection, backup settings, and physical control of the device.

Android or device-manufacturer backup systems may back up some application data depending on your device and backup settings. Such backup processing is controlled by the platform or device provider and is governed by its privacy terms. Whether any App data is included in device backup depends on the released App configuration and your device or platform backup settings.

8. Technical Data and Third-Party SDKs

The base KeepWise product described in this Policy does not require an advertising SDK, account SDK, or KeepWise cloud backend. However, Google Play and Android may process store, installation, security, licensing, update, device, and diagnostic information as part of providing their platforms. That processing is controlled by Google or the relevant device provider.

The current release is not intended to include crash-reporting, analytics, advertising, attribution, remote-configuration, cloud-storage, or other third-party SDKs that transmit KeepWise item records or photos off the device. If we add a third-party SDK or materially change these practices, we will review its data behavior, update this Policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure, and provide any notice or consent required by law.

9. Support and Feedback Communications

When you voluntarily contact support by email or another channel, we may receive the information you provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, device model, Android version, and App version. We use this information to respond, investigate issues, maintain records of the request, and protect the App.

Support messages are not stored inside the local KeepWise item database unless you separately add them. Email providers and other communication services process messages under their own policies. Do not send item photos or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request.

10. Sharing and Disclosure

KeepWise does not sell or rent item records, decision answers, notes, or item photos. Because current-version business data remains locally stored, KeepWise does not routinely share that content with advertisers, data brokers, or other users.

Information may be disclosed only in limited circumstances, such as:

At your direction, for example when you use Android’s system share interface;

To a communication provider when you send a support email;

To comply with a binding legal request, but only to the extent we actually possess responsive information;

To protect legal rights, safety, or the integrity of the App, where permitted by law;

As part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the App, subject to applicable privacy obligations and notice requirements.

Because KeepWise generally does not receive your local records, we may be unable to retrieve or disclose them in response to a request. Data you intentionally share outside KeepWise is controlled by the destination you select.

11. International Data Transfers

KeepWise item records and copied photos are intended to remain on your device, so the current App does not routinely transfer that content internationally to a KeepWise server. Support communications may be processed in the country where the publisher or email provider operates. Google Play and other third-party platform services may process technical information in multiple countries under their own privacy terms and transfer mechanisms.

Where KeepWise directly transfers personal information across borders in the future, we will use an appropriate legal basis and safeguards required by applicable law, and this Policy will be updated accordingly.

12. Data Retention and Deletion

12.1 Individual Records

You may delete an individual item record from its detail page. Deleting a record is intended to remove the item information, related answers, result, status, and the associated copied image from the App’s active local storage.

12.2 Clear Local Data

You may use the in-app path “Mine → Clear Local Data” and complete the confirmation steps to remove all locally stored item records, decision history, and copied item images. The action is intended to be irreversible.

12.3 Android Settings and Uninstalling

Clearing KeepWise storage through Android settings or uninstalling the App may also remove local records. Data may remain temporarily in a device backup controlled by Android, Google, or the device manufacturer, depending on your backup settings. KeepWise does not control the retention period of third-party backups.

12.4 Support Communications

Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain service and security records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion where applicable by contacting the publisher.

13. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You can directly control most KeepWise data because it is stored on your device. Available choices include:

View and edit item records in the App;

Delete individual records;

Clear all local business data;

Decline or revoke camera and photo permissions;

Choose not to add photos or sensitive notes;

Stop using the App and uninstall it;

Contact us regarding support communications or other information that we may directly hold.

Depending on your location and the nature of information we directly control, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to withdraw consent. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. Because local records are not held on our servers, we generally cannot access, export, correct, or delete them remotely; you must use the controls on your device.

We may need to verify your identity before processing a privacy request relating to support communications. You may also have the right to complain to a local data-protection or consumer-protection authority.

14. Notice for EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland Users

Where data-protection law in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland applies, the controller for personal information directly processed by KeepWise is the publisher identified on the Google Play listing. Processing may rely on:

Performance of a service you request, such as responding to a support message;

Your consent, such as granting an optional camera or photo permission;

Legitimate interests, such as maintaining security, responding to misuse, and improving reliability, balanced against your rights;

Compliance with a legal obligation.

You may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and complaint. Automated organization suggestions in KeepWise are based on predefined local rules and are not intended to produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

15. Notice for California Residents

This section applies only where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies to the KeepWise publisher and the relevant information. In the preceding twelve months, KeepWise may have handled the following categories: identifiers contained in support messages, electronic information such as optional item photos, user-created item records stored locally, and internet or device information processed by third-party platforms or any disclosed SDKs.

KeepWise does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by California law, based on the local-only configuration described in this Policy. California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain information about data practices, and the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising applicable rights.

Local item records must be managed using the App or device because the publisher does not possess them. Requests concerning support communications or other information directly held by the publisher may be submitted using the contact information below.

16. Children’s Privacy

KeepWise is a general-audience organization tool and is not designed or marketed as a children’s service. The current version does not require an account or intentionally request a child’s name, contact information, school, location, or social profile.

We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children below the age at which parental consent is required in the applicable jurisdiction. If you believe a child has sent personal information through a support channel, contact us so that we can evaluate and delete it where required.

17. Data Security

KeepWise uses Android application storage and reasonable development practices intended to limit access to local business data. We also seek to minimize permissions and avoid collecting information that is unnecessary for the core function.

No method of electronic storage or device security is completely secure. Security risks may arise from an unlocked device, malware, operating-system vulnerabilities, backups, screenshots, unauthorized physical access, rooted devices, or third-party applications. You should protect your device with an appropriate lock and install security updates.

If we become aware of a security incident involving information that we directly control, we will investigate and provide notices required by applicable law.

18. External Links and Third-Party Services

KeepWise may open a Google Play page, mail application, browser, system sharing interface, or another third-party destination. We do not control those services. Review their privacy policies before providing information. This Policy does not apply after information is transferred to a third party at your direction.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect product changes, new SDKs, platform requirements, legal developments, or improved explanations. The current version will display a revised effective date. Material changes will be communicated in the App, on the store listing, or by another method where required by law.

If a future update changes KeepWise from local-only processing to cloud storage or introduces advertising, analytics, account registration, or other materially different data handling, we will update the Policy and obtain any required consent before or when the new processing begins.
